Ken Arlen Evolution + 312FILMS: Ballrooms, Unforgettable Nights
Some bands play weddings. The Ken Arlen Evolution takes over ballrooms. We have now filmed three weddings alongside Ken Arlen’s musicians, in three of Chicago’s most storied rooms, and every one of those films is better because the band was in it.
The Weddings We’ve Shared
- Megan & Chad at The Ritz-Carlton: a ten-year love story with a Michael Bublé first dance and a dance floor that never sat down.
- Caroline & John at The Peninsula: high-octane sets in the Grand Ballroom, ending the night with Lou Malnati’s deep dish and a full-room singalong to “Sweet Caroline.”
- Kristen & Kyle at the University Club: Cathedral Hall’s Gothic ceilings ringing with a choreographed first dance to Bublé’s “Everything,” nailed to a final dip.

What a Veteran Band Does for a Wedding Film
A band that has played a room a hundred times knows things no playlist can know: when to stretch a song because the floor is full, when to pull the energy down for a toast, and how to build a night so the biggest moment lands at exactly the right time. For us behind the cameras, that reliability is gold. We can anticipate the crescendos, position for the singalong before it starts, and capture reactions instead of chasing them. When the “Sweet Caroline” moment erupted at The Peninsula, we were already in place, because with Ken Arlen’s crew, you can feel it coming.

The Sound of the Film
Live music also means the audio in the final film is the room itself: real horns, real vocals, guests singing along. Wedding films scored by the actual night have an authenticity that no licensed track can fully replace, and three films with the Ken Arlen Evolution have proven it to us again and again.
For Couples Weighing a Live Band
If your venue is one of Chicago’s grand ballrooms, a band of this caliber isn’t a luxury; it’s the engine of the entire evening, and it will elevate your film as much as your party. We would share a ballroom with Ken Arlen’s musicians any night of the week.
