Amanda & Dan: A Chic Urban Celebration at The Langham, Chicago

Amanda and Dan’s wedding on October 29th, 2017 was a masterclass in downtown Chicago elegance, blending heartfelt tradition with high-energy celebration. Set against the luxurious backdrop of The Langham, Chicago, every moment of the day was meticulously planned to showcase their love and the vibrant city they call home.

Morning Preparations & Heartfelt Letters

The day began in the sophisticated suites of The Langham. While Amanda and her bridesmaids prepared with hair and makeup, the videography team captured the fine details that set the tone for the day. One of the most cinematic moments of the morning was capturing Amanda and Dan as they read private letters to one another, a quiet and emotional prelude to the festivities ahead.

A First Look & Iconic Chicago Backdrops

The couple shared their first glance in the Pavilion, a stunning space within the hotel. Following their reveal, the team hit the streets of Chicago for an iconic portrait session. From the classic Chicago Theatre sign and a whimsical pink taxi to the architectural beauty of the LaSalle Bridge, the Riverwalk, and the Wrigley Building, the city served as the perfect co-star for their wedding film.

The Ceremony: An Interfaith Celebration

The ceremony was a beautiful, unplugged interfaith service held in the main ballroom, officiated by Rabbi Ari Moffic and Father Tom Hurley. Under a beautifully styled chuppah, the couple exchanged vows following a processional featuring “Can’t Help Falling in Love” and “Thinking Out Loud.” The joy was palpable as they recessed to “You’re My Best Friend” by Queen, officially beginning their life as husband and wife.

The Reception: “Trust Us, You Can Dance”

As the sun set over the Chicago River, guests transitioned from a cocktail hour, featuring custom napkins that cheekily promised “Trust Us You Can Dance,” into a high-energy reception. An 8-piece band kept the dance floor packed from the moment the doors opened.

Key highlights captured on film included:

  • The couple’s romantic first dance to Sam Cooke’s “Nothing Can Change This Love.”
  • A surprise “Happy Birthday” tribute to family members, complete with a walk-up to “Thriller.”
  • A high-spirited horah that brought the entire room to its feet.
  • A final, exuberant dance to “Oh What a Night” by The Four Seasons.
