Megan & Matt: An Industrial Chic Celebration at Morgan Manufacturing

Capturing Megan and Matt’s October 29, 2016 wedding was a journey through some of Chicago’s most iconic landscapes, culminating in a high-energy, industrial-chic celebration at Morgan Manufacturing, a seamless blend of sophisticated elegance and modern, urban style.

Morning Preparations

The day began in the Presidential Suite of the Hyatt on the Magnificent Mile, the air filled with excitement and hairspray. We captured the intimate moments of Megan and her bridesmaids getting ready, the fine details of the bridal gown, and the joyful anticipation before the first look.

The First Look & Iconic Chicago Backdrops

Megan and Matt shared their emotional first look in the Art Institute’s South Garden, the lush greenery a timeless contrast to their modern style. From there we moved to the Lincoln Park Zoo’s Honeycomb, framing the bridal party against one of the city’s most architectural nature spots.

An Industrial Ceremony

The transition to Morgan Manufacturing shifted the tone: the Plant and Production spaces transformed with amber lighting and elegant drapes by Frost, creating a warm, cinematic glow. The most moving moment of the ceremony was Megan’s entrance, escorted by her father to the acoustic sounds of The Beatles’ “Blackbird.”

The Reception: Energy and Elegance

The reception was a masterclass in event design, a boxwood wall, wooden farm tables, and personal touches down to custom koozies.

The grand introductions: to “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” shifting the night into high gear.
The toasts: heartfelt words from the maid of honor, the best man, and even a junior best man.
The dances: a first dance to James Morrison’s “You Make It Real,” and parent dances to “My Wish” and “Tupelo Honey.”
The finale: Ken Arlen’s 8-piece Entourage kept the floor packed until rooftop portraits under the Chicago sky and late-night snacks closed a legendary celebration.
