Janel & Conor’s Wedding at City Winery Chicago
Janel & Conor: A Chic Chicago Celebration at City Winery
This film captures the essence of a modern Chicago love story. From the historic architecture of the Gold Coast to the industrial-chic vibes of the West Loop, Janel and Conor’s wedding day was a masterclass in urban elegance.
The Morning: Preparation & Anticipation
The day began in the heart of the city with the bridal party gathering at a beautiful rental on East Cedar Street, laughter and shared excitement filling the rooms as the hair and makeup artists worked their magic. Meanwhile, Conor and his groomsmen prepared at their own West Randolph retreat, enjoying a relaxed morning before donning their suits.
The First Look & A Tour of the City
One of the most cinematic moments of the day was the first look on the grand staircase of the bridal party’s Gold Coast rental. The couple then boarded a shuttle for a whirlwind tour of Chicago’s most iconic backdrops: Oak Street Beach, the lush greenery of Lincoln Park, and the timeless, intricate architecture of The Rookery, the perfect contrast between the lakefront’s natural beauty and the historic soul of the city.
The Ceremony at City Winery
The celebration moved to City Winery, where the industrial aesthetic was softened by stunning floral arrangements from The Flower Firm. Guests were greeted by the elegant sounds of Dolce Strings as they took their seats. Janel, in a gown from Marie Gabriel Couture, was escorted down the aisle by her father, and after the couple was declared husband and wife, they made a joyful exit to the upbeat sounds of Ray LaMontagne.
The Reception: Music, Wine, and Dancing
The evening transitioned into a high-energy celebration in the City Winery concert hall, a room built for live music and made for wedding films.
- The first dance: Rod Stewart’s “You’re in My Heart.”
- The speeches: heartfelt and humorous toasts from the matrons of honor and the best man.
- The parent dances: Heartland’s “I Loved Her First” (one of our top 10 father-daughter dance songs) and James Taylor’s “You’ve Got a Friend.”
- The party: Joe Stephen of Standing Ovation DJs kept the dance floor packed through late-night snacks and final call.
