A Slice of Italy in Northern Michigan: Teresa & Rowan’s Stunning Bay Harbor Wedding

Capturing Teresa and Rowan’s wedding was an absolute highlight for our team. Held at the breathtaking Bay Harbor Yacht Club in July 2018, this celebration was the perfect blend of high-end elegance and deeply rooted family traditions. From the emotional speeches to the “effortless” love the couple shares, every moment was a videographer’s dream.

A 13-Year Journey to “I Do”

Teresa and Rowan’s story is one for the ages. Together for 13 years, their relationship began when Rowan caught Teresa’s eye back in high school. As their family noted during the toasts, watching them grow over the years has been “magical,” and they truly “effortlessly love each other.” Rowan had long been a fixture at Teresa’s family kitchen table, and this weekend officially welcomed him into the family, complete with a traditional gold chain.

Bringing Italy to Bay Harbor

The family brought a vibrant piece of their heritage to Northern Michigan, describing the event simply as an “Italian wedding.” The attention to detail was incredible:

Authentic favors: the couple traveled to Ravello, Italy, to hand-select custom-painted tiles, Limoncello, and olive oil for the guest tables.
The feast: in true Italian fashion, food and family were central, with appetizers from Cantorro’s and a multi-course dinner at the Yacht Club.
Emotional traditions: as the family shared, they are a “special family” that isn’t afraid to be “brutally honest” or show their love through “hugs and kisses.”

Cinematic Moments

The weekend, masterfully coordinated by Elsilu Events, was packed with visual highlights:

The grand exit: after a beautiful ceremony at St. Francis, the newlyweds departed in a classic GTO.
The arrival by boat: one of the most spectacular sequences we have ever filmed, Teresa and Rowan arriving at the Bay Harbor Yacht Club by water, greeted by all their guests on the patio.
The settings: from the lush greenery of Lavender Hill Farm for the bridal luncheon to the sophisticated ballroom of the Yacht Club, the backdrops were endlessly elegant.

A Legacy of Love

Beyond the stunning decor and the “model” bride walking down the aisle, the heart of this wedding was tradition and family legacy: the family cake toppers, the classic car, and a foundation built for the next generation. Teresa and Rowan, thank you for letting us capture your “dream” wedding. It was an honor to witness such a “phenomenal” weekend filled with heart, history, and, of course, plenty of Limoncello.
