Winter Elegance at the University Club of Chicago: Elizabeth & John Paul’s Cinematic Celebration

On February 5, 2022, we had the pleasure of capturing the stunning wedding of Elizabeth Pollock and John Paul Zulueta in the heart of Chicago. The historic University Club of Chicago served as the perfect backdrop for this black-tie optional affair, offering a mix of old-world charm and modern energy.

The Morning Glow

Our team began the day documenting the excitement of the morning preparations. Elizabeth spent her morning in the Brown Room, while John Paul and his groomsmen gathered in the Billiards Room. These quiet, intimate moments of hair, makeup, and anticipation are always some of our favorites to film.

A Library First Look & A Special Guest

The couple shared a private first look in the Club’s magnificent Library. Shortly after, the wedding party moved outside for photos under the green awning, where they were joined by a very special guest: their dog, Zoey, escorted by Dogs Deserve It. Even in the February air, the joy between Elizabeth and John Paul was palpable.

A Cathedral Hall Ceremony

The ceremony took place in the breathtaking Cathedral Hall on the 9th floor. The atmosphere was set by a classical quartet playing “Love Theme from St. Elmo’s Fire” and “Pictures at an Exhibition: Promenade” as the families made their way down the aisle. Under the soaring ceilings, Dr. Kyle Nash led a beautiful service that officially united the couple.

Cocktails and Contemporary Classics

Following the “I dos,” guests moved to the Library for cocktails. In a fun twist, the musicians performed jazz-inspired versions of contemporary hits like “C.R.E.A.M.” by Wu-Tang Clan and “Despacito,” while guests enjoyed the couple’s specialty cocktail, “The Duchess of Snuggles.”

An Unforgettable Reception

The celebration returned to Cathedral Hall for dinner and dancing, beginning with a high-energy grand entrance to “Cake by the Ocean” by DNCE. After heartfelt toasts and a multi-course dinner, the 12-piece band from BeatMix Music took over, keeping the dance floor packed all night. From the first dance to Lionel Richie’s “All Night Long” to a late-night delivery of Marion’s Pizza, every moment was a testament to the couple’s vibrant spirit.

We are so grateful to have been part of this incredible vendor team and to have captured 11 hours of Elizabeth and John Paul’s beautiful journey.
