About TVK Orchestra

TVK Orchestra is a Palatine, Illinois-based live wedding band with more than 35 years of history playing weddings, galas, and private events across Chicago and the Chicagoland area. The group has performed at well over 3,000 events and has been featured by The Knot, WeddingWire, Style Me Pretty, and Inside Weddings. Their repertoire spans Motown, pop, country, jazz, funk, rock, R&B, swing, disco, big band, and standards, built to carry a reception from cocktail hour through the last dance. The band now also operates under the name TVK Music, though couples and vendors across Chicago, us included, still know them as TVK Orchestra.

The Weddings We’ve Shared

• Jessica & Dawid at St. Hyacinth Basilica & LondonHouse Chicago. TVK Orchestra performed John Legend’s “Conversations in the Dark” live for the couple’s first dance, then played until midnight in the Juliette Ballroom before a DJ carried the party to 2 AM.
• Kristine & Matthew at St. James Chapel & The Langham Chicago. One of the best moments we’ve ever filmed: the groom joined TVK on stage to play guitar on the Beatles’ “A Hard Day’s Night,” a highlight-reel moment that still gets requests from other couples.
• Anna & Rickus at St. James 1868 in Milwaukee. TVK Orchestra closed out a 200-guest summer wedding with a packed dance floor that ran deep into the night.

What TVK Orchestra Brings to a Wedding Film

Live music changes what we’re able to capture. A band gives us real instruments in frame, a stage to light, and moments, like a groom stepping up to play guitar, that a DJ set can’t produce. TVK Orchestra reads a room well: their sets build rather than plateau, which means our cameras are usually in position for the moment the dance floor actually fills. For couples deciding between a DJ and a band, TVK is one of the few Chicago acts we’ve watched hold a room’s energy for a full reception, ballroom or historic venue alike.
