Jessica & Dawid’s Polish Wedding at St. Hyacinth Basilica & LondonHouse
Jessica & Dawid: A Polish-American Wedding at St. Hyacinth Basilica
Jessica and Dawid’s October 2, 2021 wedding was a magnificent tribute to the couple’s Polish heritage, set against the vibrant backdrop of downtown Chicago: a first look above the river at LondonHouse, vows at the basilica at the heart of Polish Chicago, and a celebration that ran until two in the morning.
The Morning & the Rooftop First Look
The film begins in the high-rise elegance of the LondonHouse Presidential Suite, where Jessica prepared with her bridal party while the groomsmen gathered for breakfast in the Ronan Room. Then came a standout cinematic moment: the first look on the LondonHouse rooftop, with the Chicago skyline stretching behind the couple’s first private moment of the day.
A Grand Ceremony at St. Hyacinth Basilica
The heart of the story takes place at the historic St. Hyacinth Basilica, a landmark of Chicago’s Polish community. The ceremony, officiated by Father Steve Bartczyszyn, was rich with tradition: Dawid processing with his parents to “Canon in D,” a spirited crew of five ring bearers (complete with a wagon), and Jessica’s grand entrance to “Here Comes the Bride” escorted by both of her parents, in beautiful Polish custom. Following the “I dos,” the celebration officially began with a slow-motion champagne pop outside the basilica doors.
An Iconic Chicago Trolley Tour
The wedding party’s trolley tour gave the film its urban texture: high-fashion architectural shots at the Wrigley Building, playful footage of the full wedding party ordering lunch at Chick-fil-A in formal attire, and romantic lakefront b-roll at Olive Park before the return to LondonHouse.
The Celebration in the Juliette Ballroom
- The grand introduction: Mr. & Mrs. Bobro entered to Imagine Dragons’ “On Top of the World.”
- Heartfelt toasts: from the maid of honor, Jessica’s sister Jenny, and the best man, Dawid’s brother Patrick.
- The cake cutting: Bittersweet’s creation, cut to Nat King Cole’s “L-O-V-E.”
- A live first dance: John Legend’s “Conversations in the Dark,” performed live by the TVK Orchestra.
- The family dance: a combined father-daughter and mother-son dance to Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me,” highlighting the deep family bonds at the center of the day.
- The long goodbye: the full band played until midnight, a DJ carried the party to 2 AM, and a post-wedding brunch at LondonHouse closed the weekend.
