A Chic City Love Story: Christina + Jack at Venue Six10
On July 23, 2022, we had the pleasure of capturing the high-energy, deeply personal wedding of Christina and Jack in the heart of Chicago. From the traditional beauty of a cathedral ceremony to the modern, glass-walled elegance of a downtown reception, this day was a true celebration of their story.
The Morning: Intimate Moments & Personal Touches
The day began with the excitement of getting ready. Christina spent her morning at her condo, surrounded by her ten bridesmaids, while Jack prepared at the historic Palmer House. One of the most cinematic moments we captured was the couple reading letters from one another, a quiet, emotional pause before the whirlwind of the day began. We also documented a touching first look with Christina and her father, capturing his reaction before they headed to the church.
The Ceremony: St. Alphonsus Church
The couple exchanged vows at the stunning St. Alphonsus Church. The ceremony was rich with tradition, including the Liturgy of the Word and the Rite of Marriage, featuring the lighting of the unity candle and the Las Arras coin ceremony. The grandeur of the church provided a timeless backdrop for the couple’s first moments as husband and wife.
The City Tour: Iconic Chicago Backdrops
Following the ceremony, the wedding party hopped on an executive bus for a photo and video tour of the city’s most iconic landmarks. We captured breathtaking footage of the newlyweds at:
- Olive Park
- The Wrigley Building
- Chicago Board of Trade
The Reception: Dancing & Fireworks at Venue Six10
The celebration moved to Venue Six10, where floor-to-ceiling windows offered guests a spectacular view of the city skyline. The energy was electric from the start, with the wedding party making a grand entrance to “I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas.
The evening was filled with highlights, including:
- Heartfelt toasts from the parents of the bride, the Best Man, and the Maid of Honor.
- The first dance to “Take Over the World” by Courteeners.
- An aerial view: at 9:15 PM we captured a unique aerial shot of the entire guest list on the dance floor, a perfect way to show the scale of the party.
- The finale: fireworks over Lake Michigan, a magical end to a perfect Chicago summer night.
