Chelsea & Kevin’s Wedding at the Lyric Opera House

A Grand Chicago Love Story: Chelsea & Kevin at the Lyric Opera House

Chelsea and Kevin’s September wedding was a cinematic tribute to Chicago, culminating in vows inside the Lyric Opera House‘s breathtaking Grand Foyer.

The Morning: Setting the Stage

The day began with detail shots at Chelsea’s home and the Hotel Allegro, followed by intimate portraits and a reading of letters as the couple prepared for their first look.

The First Look and Iconic Chicago Backdrops

At 1:00 pm, Chelsea and Kevin shared their first look at North Avenue Beach against the backdrop of Lake Michigan, before a cinematic tour of the city for portraits at the Wrigley Building and riverfront, the Art Institute’s South Garden, and a private moment on the Lyric Stage before the ceremony.

An Unplugged Ceremony in the Grand Foyer

The couple chose a device-free ceremony to keep guests fully present, exchanging personalized vows in the opera house’s breathtaking Grand Foyer. Immediately after, the newlyweds gathered guests for a grand group photo on the iconic red stairs before heading to the mezzanine for cocktail hour.

The Reception: Dancing and Late-Night Lights

  • The first dance: Ed Sheeran’s “Photograph.”
  • The speeches: heartfelt toasts from the Matrons of Honor and the Best Man.
  • The party: the dance floor opened to Calvin Harris’s “Feel So Close,” with a live drummer joining the DJ.

At 10:00 pm, the couple slipped away for a late-night city shoot at Gibsons, capturing Chicago after dark before returning to dance with their guests.
