On October 20, 2018, Maddie and Brian celebrated a timeless, sophisticated, city-chic wedding at LondonHouse Chicago, the landmark hotel above the river at Michigan Avenue and Wacker.
Morning Preparations & Personal Touches
The day began with the bridal party gathering in the suite for hair and makeup by Kerra Coticchia and her team, while the groomsmen enjoyed brunch and preparation time. We captured the quiet, intimate moments of Maddie getting dressed with the help of her mother and her bridesmaid before the big reveals.
Two Emotional First Looks
One of the most cinematic sequences of the day was Maddie’s first look with her father, Colby, followed by a breathtaking private meeting between Maddie and Brian at the LondonHouse Cupola, the famous rooftop turret that provides one of the most stunning urban backdrops in Chicago.
A Tour of the City
The wedding party boarded a limo bus for a photo and video tour of Chicago’s most iconic landmarks: the architectural beauty of the Wrigley Building, the greenery of Olive Park, and the unique structure of the Honeycomb at Lincoln Park.
The Ceremony
The ceremony featured a beautiful processional to the Victorian String Quartet playing Bach and Pachelbel’s “Canon in D.” After the “I dos,” the couple made a high-energy exit to the classic “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.”
An Elegant Reception
- The grand entrance: the new Mr. and Mrs. Hartz entered to “Feel So Close.”
- Heartfelt toasts: emotional speeches from the father of the bride, the maid of honor, and the best man.
- The first dance: a timeless moment to Frank Sinatra’s “The Way You Look Tonight.”
- Parent dances: Maddie and her father to “Lullaby (Goodnight, My Angel),” and Brian and his mother to “You’ll Be in My Heart.”
- Late night: a celebratory cake cutting by Bittersweet and late-night snacks as the party carried on.
