Polish weddings are built for film. Chicago holds one of the largest Polish communities outside of Poland, and a wesele here carries traditions passed down through generations: the parents’ blessing, the walk down the aisle with both mother and father, “Sto Lat” sung by a hundred voices, and a party that treats midnight as an intermission. Filming Polish Wedding Traditions

Every Polish wedding tells its story through custom, and each one deserves a camera in the right place. The błogosławieństwo, the parents’ blessing before the ceremony, is often the most emotional footage of the entire day, a private moment of kneeling, tears, and generations embracing. In the church, the groom often processes with his parents and the bride walks with both of hers, so the aisle itself becomes a family portrait in motion. At the reception, the bread and salt greeting welcomes the newlyweds, wishing them prosperity and resilience, followed by a shared toast. “Sto Lat” (“a hundred years”) erupts from the guests at least once, usually more. And late in the night comes oczepiny, the unveiling: the bride’s veil is removed, games begin, and the dance floor finds a second life that can carry into a poprawiny, the day-two celebration. We plan our coverage so no tradition happens off camera.

Our wedding will be partly in Polish. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Emotion needs no translation, and we film bilingual ceremonies and toasts regularly. If key moments will be in Polish, tell us in advance and we will make sure the film honors both languages.

Polish receptions run late. Do you stay for oczepiny?

Our full-day coverage runs up to 11 hours, and we plan it around your traditions, so if oczepiny is at midnight, we build the schedule to be there for it.
