About Alliance Bakery

Alliance Bakery has operated out of 1736 W. Division St. in Wicker Park since 1923, originally serving the neighborhood’s Polish community, and it’s remained a fixture there for a full century. Current owner Peter Rios took over in 2007 and shifted the focus toward custom wedding cakes alongside the bakery’s pastries, cookies, and other sweets, and in 2023 the bakery opened a second, larger production space in West Town to keep up with demand. Alliance Bakery is a Hispanic/Latinx-owned business.
