Krutika & Parin’s Indian Wedding at Esplanade Lakes
Krutika & Parin: A Vibrant Celebration of Tradition and Love
On August 9, 2015, we had the incredible honor of capturing Krutika and Parin’s stunning Indian wedding at Esplanade Lakes in Downers Grove, a day that was a masterclass in blending high-energy celebration with deeply intimate moments, all at one of Illinois’ most versatile venues.
The Morning Procession: The Baraat
The day began early with the Baraat, Parin’s lively procession. We captured the groom and his family dancing their way toward the venue entrance to the pulse of traditional music, the energy peaking as Krutika’s family greeted them to escort the groom inside.
The Sacred Union
The heart of the day was the morning ceremony, a beautiful hour and a half filled with tradition. Following the rituals, we documented the family portrait session, capturing the joy of two families officially becoming one.
The Emotional Farewell
One of the most moving segments of the film is the Vidaai: family and friends walking Krutika to her car in a poignant farewell procession, the emotional hinge of the day before the festivities paused for a family lunch.
The Evening Gala at Esplanade Lakes
After a brief afternoon break, the celebration returned for a grand evening:
- The grand entrances: high-energy introductions that set the tone for the night.
- Traditional milestones: the first dance, the cake cutting, and heartfelt speeches.
- Cultural performances: vibrant choreographed dances from family on both sides.
- The open dance floor: we stayed late to film the sheer joy of the guests celebrating the newlyweds.
Venue Spotlight
Both ceremony and reception were hosted at Esplanade Lakes by DoubleTree in Downers Grove, a seamless one-venue day for guests and a consistent, elegant aesthetic for the film, and a venue well practiced in multi-event Indian celebrations.
