Megan & Mike: A Cinematic Summer Wedding at the Hyatt Lodge
Megan and Mike’s June wedding paired an elegant church ceremony at St. Raphael Church in Naperville with a sophisticated reception at The Hyatt Lodge in Oak Brook, our cameras rolling from morning prep through the final bar close.
Morning Preparation
Coverage began at 11:00 am, capturing Megan and her bridesmaids finishing hair and makeup in the Oak Brook Conference Room while Mike and his groomsmen readied themselves in the Tack Room. By 12:30 pm, Megan was in her dress, and the wedding party set off in style: the guys by limo, the bride and her party aboard a trolley.
The Ceremony at St. Raphael Church
At 2:30 pm, the doors of St. Raphael Church opened to the elegant sounds of Classic Strings, and Fr. Dennis Paul officiated the vows. We captured intimate family portraits at the altar before the newlyweds headed off for wedding party photos.
The Celebration at The Hyatt Lodge
As cocktail hour wrapped at 7:00 pm, guests were invited into the grand ballroom to the music of Felix and Fingers. The evening’s highlights included a high-energy 7:15 pm grand entrance for the wedding party, heartfelt toasts from the Maids of Honor and Best Man during dinner, and a romantic 9:15 pm first dance followed by traditional parent dances.
- The late-night snack: a fun, unexpected touch of cheeseburgers and milkshake shooters served at 10:45 pm.
- The photo booth: a bustling hit in the foyer all night.
- The finish: dancing until the final bar close at midnight.
