Stephanie & Michael: A Riverside Celebration in Chicago

Some love stories get two wedding films. Stephanie and Michael first married on September 6, 2020, in an intimate micro-wedding at the family home in Highland Park, and then, on August 1, 2021, celebrated with everyone they love at Rockwell on the River. Together, the films tell the story of a couple, and a world, finding its way back to full celebration.

Chapter One: The Highland Park Micro-Wedding

The 2020 celebration proved that a smaller guest count only amplifies the intimacy of a wedding day. Under a sophisticated tent on the grounds of the family home, with a stunning chuppah by Kehoe Designs, Stephanie stepped into her gown with her mother’s help, shared a moment with her father, and met Michael for a romantic first look in front of the house. The ketubah signing with the Rabbi led into a ceremony with a deeply personal soundtrack: Vance Joy’s “I’m with You” for Michael’s entrance, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” for Stephanie’s, and “Mountain Sound” for the recessional. Fifteen guests shared dinner, a live stream carried the vows to family afar, and in the day’s most 2020 moment, the newlyweds waved to a parade of drive-by well-wishers from the front lawn.

Chapter Two: The Full Celebration at Rockwell on the River

A year later, the party arrived. The day began at the Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile, then a classic Chicago trolley carried the wedding party to iconic portrait stops across the city before the riverside festivities began.

Cocktail hour: passed drinks and the soulful sounds of acoustic and electric guitars by the Chicago River.
The grand entrance: the doors opened to a full band as Mr. and Mrs. Zorensky entered to “Everybody Loves Somebody.”
The first dance: “Precious Love,” a highlight of the film.
A night of celebration: a heartfelt welcome toast from the father of the bride, a high-energy Hora, and a packed dance floor fueled by the Gold Coast All Stars.
