About Reva Nathan and Associates

Reva Nathan founded her Chicago event planning business in 1980, after turning down a PhD program at the University of Chicago to start an invitation company that grew into full-service event planning. Her background in psychology has become one of her signature tools: she is known in the industry for navigating the family dynamics and emotional complexity that come with large, high-profile weddings, not just the logistics. Her firm, based at 350 W. Hubbard St. in Chicago, plans weddings that typically run from $100,000 to $500,000, working with some of Chicago’s most private families and public figures. She helped director Robert Zemeckis plan his Academy Award party for Forrest Gump and his 50th birthday celebration in Chicago, and was named to Chicago’s Who’s Who of Best Wedding Experts in 2017.

The Wedding We’ve Shared

We filmed Ariel & Daniel’s black-tie Jewish wedding at Morgan Manufacturing, planned by Reva Nathan and Associates. The celebration began at the Thompson Hotel with a bridal party of thirteen, moved through a ketubah signing and a candlelit chuppah ceremony, and closed out the night with the Gold Coast All Stars, an armchair Hora, and a surprise Good Humor ice cream truck at midnight. It’s the kind of night that looks effortless on film specifically because someone spent months making sure it would be.
