Kathleen & Brian: A Cinematic Chicago Celebration

Kathleen and Brian’s October wedding was a love letter to Chicago, from the historic grandeur of Holy Name Cathedral to the modern, chic energy of the Museum of Broadcast Communications.

The Morning: Prep & Sentiments

The day began at the Renaissance Hotel, with the skyline as a backdrop for morning preparations. One of the most touching moments captured on film was an exchange of gifts and letters at noon, a quiet prelude to the day ahead, with Kathleen’s hair and makeup by Tamara Artistry.

The Ceremony: Holy Name Cathedral

The ceremony at Holy Name Cathedral was breathtaking. As strings played “Canon in D,” Kathleen made her entrance with her father, Tom, the cathedral’s scale offering incredible wide shots alongside intimate close-ups during the 2:30 pm ceremony.

A City-Wide Tour

After the vows, the bridal party boarded a Second City Trolley for a tour of the city’s most iconic locations: the Board of Trade for classic Chicago grit and glamour, Olive Park and the Chicago Theatre for timeless views, and the Anita Dee dock area, a sentimental stop as the couple’s engagement spot.

The Reception: Spiked Milkshakes & Space Jam

The party moved to the Broadcast Museum, transformed by LOLA Event Productions and HMR Designs into a modern masterpiece. Cocktail hour featured passed champagne and spiked milkshakes, and the energy peaked when the bridal party entered to the “Space Jam” theme song. The couple cut their cake to Michael Bublé’s “Everything” before their first dance to “You Are the Best Thing.”

Late Night Vibes

The Stu Hirsh Band kept the dance floor packed all night, with late-night Lou Malnati’s pizza and a final singalong to “Sweet Caroline” closing out the celebration.
