The Lim-Aribal Wedding at the Millennium Knickerbocker

Cinematic Chicago Romance: The Lim-Aribal Wedding

From the historic halls of the Millennium Knickerbocker to the iconic vistas of the Chicago skyline, this September 29, 2017 celebration provided a breathtaking canvas for cinematic storytelling, and we had the privilege of documenting every intricate detail.

The Morning: Anticipation at the Knickerbocker

The day began in the elegant suites of the Millennium Knickerbocker, where we captured the quiet, nervous excitement of the bridal party and the camaraderie of the groom and his groomsmen. The final touches of hair and makeup and the donning of wedding attire set the tone for a day defined by grace.

The Vows at St. Michael’s

The scene then shifted to the stunning architecture of St. Michael’s Church. The ceremony was a beautiful display of tradition and love, from the coordinated processional to the joyful recessional, the sacred atmosphere providing a solemn and beautiful backdrop for the couple’s “I dos.”

An Urban Odyssey: Capturing Chicago

Following the ceremony, the bridal party embarked on a curated photo and video tour of Chicago’s most iconic locations: the Adler Planetarium with its sweeping lakefront views, the South Gardens of the Art Institute for a touch of natural serenity, and the Chicago Riverwalk and LaSalle Street bridge, capturing the quintessential energy of downtown.

The Celebration: The Crystal Ballroom

The evening culminated in the grand Crystal Ballroom of the Millennium Knickerbocker, one of the most storied ballrooms in Chicago.

  • Heartfelt tributes: a sentimental slideshow followed by moving toasts from the best man, the maid of honor, and the father of the groom.
  • Traditional dances: the couple’s romantic first dance, the emotional father-daughter and mother-son dances, and the lively tradition of the Money Dance.
  • Non-stop energy: from the cutting of the cake to the late-night snacks and high-energy sets by the big band and DJ, the joy was palpable until the very end.
