Saint Thomas More Catholic Church in St. Paul, Minnesota is a parish founded in 1959, with its original building completed in 1960. Designed by architect Edward Sovik, the church has a striking modernist design with a circular sanctuary, soaring ceilings, and stained-glass windows depicting scenes from the life of Saint Thomas More. As Chicago filmmakers who travel for weddings, we got to film a ceremony here as part of a Twin Cities celebration.

A Wedding We’ve Filmed at Saint Thomas More

On August 21, 2021, Ellie and Matt exchanged vows at Saint Thomas More in front of 200 of their closest family and friends, part of a wedding day that also included a reception across the river at The Depot in Minneapolis.

After morning preparations at the Renaissance Depot’s Luce Line Room, the couple made their way to Saint Thomas More for a processional of bridal party, junior bridesmaids, and flower girls filling the landmark church, followed by the rings, the vows, and the first kiss as husband and wife. From there, the celebration moved back to Minneapolis for a reception at The Depot’s Great Northern Ballroom.

Filming Weddings at Saint Thomas More

The church’s circular sanctuary and modernist architecture, including its stained-glass windows, give ceremony footage a distinctive look that’s different from the more traditional Gothic or Romanesque churches we often film in Chicago. We’re based in Chicago but regularly travel for weddings across the Midwest, including St. Paul and the Twin Cities.

What a Wedding at Saint Thomas More Costs

Ceremony fees and scheduling depend on parish membership and the specifics of your service, so we’d recommend contacting the parish office directly for current details. For our own wedding videography packages, visit our investment page.
