Natalie and Jeff’s wedding was a masterclass in urban elegance and high-energy celebration. Set against the iconic backdrop of Chicago, their day moved seamlessly from the sophisticated halls of the Waldorf Astoria to the lush, romantic atmosphere of Galleria Marchetti. As videographers, our goal was to capture the contrast between the intimate, quiet moments of preparation and the vibrant, surprise-filled reception that followed.
The Morning: Preparation & Detail
The day began with the bride and her bridesmaids at the Waldorf Astoria, where we captured the fine details of Natalie’s dress and accessories. Meanwhile, Jeff prepared at their Peoria residence, sharing candid moments with his groomsmen and father before heading to meet his bride.
The First Look & City Tour
One of the most emotional segments of the film took place during the first look at the Waldorf Astoria, followed by a stylish stop at Sushi Dokku. We then took advantage of Chicago’s industrial beauty, capturing cinematic footage of the bridal party at the Bassment and the historic Kinzie Bridge. These locations provided the perfect urban texture to complement the couple’s classic look.
The Celebration: Galleria Marchetti
The transition to Galleria Marchetti marked the beginning of an evening full of surprises. Highlights from this portion of the film include:
- The Surprise Mariachi Band: Guests were delighted by a surprise Mariachi performance during the cocktail hour, immediately following the ceremony.
- The Toasts: Heartfelt speeches from the Maid of Honor, Best Man, and a personal thank you from Jeff.
- Special Dances: Moving footage of the Mother/Son and Father/Daughter dances, leading into Natalie and Jeff’s official first dance as husband and wife.
- Late-Night Energy: The film captures the unique energy of the reception, featuring a “Flaming Donuts” station and traditional celebratory dances, including La Vibora de la Mar and the Dollar dance.
